The freedom I experienced growing up on West Falkland was very special, although, of course, as a child, it was taken for granted. We were able to explore the outdoors without any restrictions, sometimes playing around streams and ponds all day. My own children were raised in a similar way.
I appreciate the Falkland Islands and the freedom we enjoy. Life can be hard, but it is good. There is fresh air, freedom and space. What more do we need?
