Travel and what to bring

Roads on the West Falklands are mainly made of clay and sandstone, which can make travel bumpy in some areas. All off-roading occurs over large grass bogs, hard ridges, and soft ground, which can be challenging and uncomfortable at times. However, we do our best to ensure your journey is as comfortable as possible.

Some of the tour involves hiking, covering 1.2 km to the Albatross Conley, so you need to be fairly fit, and the terrain to the Albatross can be quite steep in places. We rate the hike as a 6-8 (1 being flat and 10 being almost a cliff face).

Packing! When preparing for your adventure, it's best to bring along some essential items to make your experience both comfortable and memorable.

Since the Falklands weather can be quite unpredictable, packing the right clothing and accessories is a smart idea.

Consider including these essentials: - Comfortable walking boots for exploring those rugged terrains. - Waterproof pants to stay dry during unexpected rain. - A cosy coat that can handle chilly and windy days. - A hat to shield your head from the sun and keep warm when needed. - Sunblock with at least SPF 10+ to protect your skin from the sun and wind.

Don't forget to pack your camera to capture all the breathtaking scenery and incredible wildlife. A pair of binoculars can come in handy for spotting distant animals and enjoying the views. Being prepared for all weather conditions will help you make the most of your trip. Have a fantastic and safe adventure!
